Master of 科学 in Nutritional 科学

Our Master of 科学 program is designed to meet the needs of the student who has a baccalaureate degree and who wishes advanced preparation in nutrition science, nutrition education, geriatric nutrition, food service/restaurant management and packaging. The program is intended to prepare candidates to assume leadership roles in their profession and community, and to provide the opportunity to acquire a foundation for 博士学习.

Our MS graduates have earned doctorates, become college or university faculty, been employed in private, federal and state research institutions, or have established their own private practice or consulting business. In the process of fulfilling requirements for the MS degree, it is possible to complete the academic requirements of The Academy of Nutrition and 营养学 and the 认证 Council for 教育 in Nutrition and 营养学 toward becoming a registered dietitian. Courses are scheduled to accommodate the time needs of working graduate students.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLO)

  1. To demonstrate advanced competency in professional writing and oral communication of the essential theories, scientific applications, and/or ethical considerations related to the profession.
  2. To identify and articulate social and cultural issues related to nutrition/packaging for various populations.
  3. To analyze and critique published research, and design and conduct research studies using the scientific method.
